Desorption: the process of extracting petroleum hydrocarbons or aromatic or chlorinated hydrocarbon volatile organic compounds, such as perchloroethylene or methyl tertiary butyl ether, from soil in a closed loop incineration system, rendering the soil available for recycling as clean fill material.
