The nice thing about going out west is that you gain time. I've always loved that when coming home on trips.

I think I'd rather the driving than flying. The older I get the more ancy I get... can't seem to sit still that long... I flew out to Seattle 2 years ago and I thought I was gonna die...

I highly recommend 1st class...the extra space makes ALL the difference in the world! I upgrade to first at any opportunity. In one of my old jobs my boss used to use her miles to upgrade me when I was travelling!

j/k hun... I would have thought of trying for it if this trip had been planned alot in advavce. But we decided to do this about 2 weeks ago, so there is no way of getting any discounts now
Trust me, this middle class kid's flown more coach miles that probably half the Corner s combined in my lifetime, so I take the 1st class upgrades whenever I can get 'em!

I'm lucky now, because I get to use my father's frequent flier miles to upgrade from time to time...though I still usually fly coach.

I usually fly coach, but I've been lucky enough to fly Business or 1st class on several occasions, too. I've even been lucky enough to fly on a "private" plane a few times. Technically they were government flights, but they were both former Air Force One planes outfitted for much smaller passenger loads.

As a matter of fact, the Air Force One that was recently retired to the Boeing Museum of Flight here in Seattle was the last military aircraft that I ever flew on before my father retired in 1997.
