Oh no...here the dealio...what should I do
My parents bought a new house, we are moving/painting everything, I am the oldest, with 1 year left in high school. One brother is 16, another is 8. The house has 2 normal bedrooms, a master bedroom/bath, and then - at the top of a spiral staircase (only part of house 2 stories) is a large, approx 25 by 20 foot room with multi faceted ceiling.
As can guess, there is a huge fight raging with my brother as to who gets it. My parents think we should share, as it is larger than the other 2 rooms put together, and use other bedroom for guests, but it doesnt look like my brother wants that.
So here are the options.
Fight for the room with my brother in a single elimination take all match
Give room to my bro, under stipulation i get a bunkbed with the computer thing under it, and can use the family den (which is by that room) for whatever social events I want
Share room with bro
Im bored

Give the room to the bro, personally, I only use my room for sleep, so I don't need anything big. In fact, I think I have the smallest room in my house right now. That'll change when I get my own place next month though.
Usually the eldest gets first pick and the room would got to you by default. However if that's not the situation in your family, I would give him the room. You'll be out of the house soon anyway. (maybe). And in time you'll realize things like that aren't as big of a deal. Plus you'll be the bigger person and you can always take pride in that. The law of reciprocity states whatever you give out will come back to you ten-fold. So good things will come to you. And it's possible that your in return, you brother will be more willing to give things up for you.
On the flip side. You could reason with him that you'll have the room until you move out and he'll have it for years after you.
