I was wondering if the news made it to the States!

Funny how this is news, yet I was in the States when the Canadian federal election was called and I didn't hear about it until I returned home.
Only to us expats tuning in the short-wave to hear news from the old country.

I was rather shocked when I got a "current events" trivia question about a recently called election... and the answer was Canada, and I hadn't heard about it at all.
I was at a trade show recently and came across to Canadian former colleages. I asked them if the Martin govt had been toppled in a vote of non-conf... they had no idea.

That wasn't too impressive.

What was odd is that I had read a bunch of article from the US MSM about stuff leading up to the vote of no confidence... but the actual vote got no press at all.

My cousin lives in NM and she's very active politically. I'm ashamed to admit there are times she sends me links from the CBC website about things I didn't know about.
