It's also spelled "Off da," and pronounced like, "ahhfff da."

One time, at band camp, I spent 4 weeks in Northfield Minnesota, and am of Lutheran extraction. . . you tell me what's doin'. . .
I've also spent 2 months in Norway. . . one of those was in March. . . froze my balls off.

I went in late June/July. Humid as a mugg, but still gorgeous.
Spend a day in Oslo and see the museums, but don't stay that long (it ain't that great).
Trondheim and the rest of the coast is gorgeous.
The hottest chicks were in Trondheim.

if i was planning a 2 week europe trip, should i or should i not include norway on my list of places to visit
Getting in and out of Scandanavia is a considerable chore. Even flying, you have to anticipate:
1. Landing in London, Amsterdam, Paris, or Copenhagen.
2. Taking a spur flight to the town you actually want to see (except obviously into Copenhagen, because bob's your uncle)
3. Trains are even longer.
Geographically and transit-wise, it's not as easily tied-in. Also, the countries are a little larger. Make a separate trip.
If you want to "go to Europe," that's a whole different kettle of fish.
My dad is a travel agent, and at one point, I had been to London more than I had been to L.A. (and I live in CA).
