You are the man, John. Sounds like a great time, and great pix to boot! So, did you know all these folks beforehand? How? You must've already had the drive planned before we decided to celebrate James/your s2ki b-day, right?

Anyway, my wife and kids have been keeping me too busy this weekend to do my Zaino application (it arrived on Friday). I'm planning on getting an early start tomorrow, and maybe by mid-afternoon I can hit the road with at least one coat of polish on.

Great work, John!

Well I didn't exactly cover all of Australia but I had a some great driving.

I headed out Friday night after work up into the mountains for about a 1 hour drive, no pics though due to the darkness, with the top down of course, got some light rain but not enough to get anything wet.

Headed out on Saturday morning with the digital camera and dark clouds above. About 45 mins and it started to pour down, drove for about 10 mins doing 130-140kms to avoid getting wet but alas I had to pull over and put the top up. Once it cleared and I dried the interior out I put the top down and went for a blast.
Took heaps of great pics but when I got home none of them came out at all.

Headed out on Sunday morning to get some pics. Weather was much better and the pics worked alright. When I get the chance I'll post the good ones for you.

All up I did a little over 400kms over the weekend.

Peter, awesome! Looking forward to the pix.

I spent most of the day applying Zaino to my car, but I did get about 40 miles in this evening. Great local roads near Mt. Wachusett (which is due North of Worcester, MA. No pix of the all-too-brief journey, but a few pix of my car looking goooood. Going to post on the Chazmo thread....

Catch you guys later.

I have failed my mission to drive the SoCal leg.

:hangs head in shame:

Friday I was busy negotiating a new job, so Friday night was a celebratory dinner. The only downside to the new job is that I might not be able to post as much.

Saturday was a bike ride and BBQ at friends. Then, guess what? My hubby (plus about 90% of the other people at the party) got food poisoning!! Can you believe it?? Only one other guy and I didn't get it. But my poor husband, he was just barely getting over the sh!t from the bad sushi (pun intended), and now he's stricken again.

So Sunday I went shopping instead of driving. (Yes, sometimes my girly side takes over.)

Sorry, guys!

Hi Red,

I was hoping to hear about your part of the mission, but it sounds like a bust. That's a total bummer about the food poisoning. Yucko.

Hope hubby feels better soon, and hope you bought yourself some nice stuff on Sunday.

p.s./ catch my latest car pix posted yesterday in my "in the house" thread.

p.p.s./ someone around here at work has a red S2000; just about the only other one I've seen around here! Shweeeeet!

On the ride north from G'boro, it was sunny and 90 - we saw a silver and a blue S2k southbound on I77 through VA - both with their tops up (losers!)
