Borrowed score marked with pen: $100 per part.

House-owned score marked with pencil: can be erased.
House-owned score marked with pen: forces 8D to hunt down the Horn player who left it there, and kick the crap out of them. . . I don't care if he's 80, and played with the Stanford Savoyards back when he was a Freshman back in '47, I'm still kicking the crap out of him.

pencil because it works in no-gravity situations.

unless you spend millions of dollars developing an anti-gravity pen like the united states did.

I chose pen because it's what I use the most, including for my journal. But when it comes to marking appointments in my work day timer, it's always pencil because stuff gets cancelled and rescheduled alllll the time.
