Did you know you can shoot to kill the repo man and not get in trouble?

There are specifics, but that's the jist of it...

Your thinking of La. There, unlike Tx, your car is considered an extension of your home and you have the right to defend your home, with lethal force.
Another great thing about Tx.....concealed handguns! Now, decent, law abiding citizens can be arm themselvs against criminals.

No no no, I'm positive you can shoot to kill the repo man. The stipulations are that it has to be at night, and you have to, with a reasonable doubt, feel your property (land, home, vehicle, etc.) is in jeopardy.

The rule is you can shoot to kill a burglar. There was a case where a repo man was shot. He was towing a truck at 3am outside the guy's driveway and the man came out of his house, thinking his car was being stolen. He shot the man in the stomach with a rifle and the repo man died at the scene. No charges were pressed. Clean record.

So you can't shoot the repo man simply because he's taking your stuff. But you can shoot to kill a burglar.

Another approach, if you aren't in the mood for a kill is to get in your car. It' s considered false imprisonment if they tow the vehicle with you in it. So if they do tow it with you in it, you can sue them and make way more than most cars are worth. Most repo guys know this now and will simple leave and try back later. This is also true for towing your vehicle in general. If you can get in it, before they start to drive away, you should be able to get your vehicle back without having to pay, if you play it right.
