Tanks ... did learn how to use one in the B&W class then rented time @ a local lab but they have since gone away
Like the of having one of my own someday there was something very cool and exciting / rewarding about shaking that thing n pulling it out the water tray to see it develop It would also encourage more B&W ing

I learned from another photographer, remember back in the day there were not many formal classes. Than i bought a setup of my own used it but not a whole lot sold it off and have been pp digital now since about oh I think early 1997 using an old powershot 600 and photoshop version 3.0.
Here is a tidbit for you did you know photoshop version 1.0 was released 21 years ago next week? Its been 21 years now since the knoll brothers changed the imaging world as we knew it from then!
Before that I had a Kodak DCS460 and that was my first foray into the digital world, wow how far we have come to what we have today!!!
Talk about memories!
Honestly B&W is more fun to do for me via digital PP, here is a fun shot I shot last night actually just horsing around at a friends house demostrating handheld long exposure techniques without using a tripod.
This was a 2 second handheld exposure taken with a 1DMKII, iso 2500 and a inexpensive tamron 17-35mm wide shot wide open in almost no light just a dim lamp cats right and a fireplace to the cats left side quickly converted to B&W this morning
WOW dats alota wordz
I took the class at the ComCollege and enjoyed it alot had a teacher which helped I'm sure but he would give us fun assignments. I at the time was feeling a lil sad being one of the only ones w/an olsKOOl Manual FM and everyone else had their fancy new didgi's but he would always come grab mine to demo ( which changed my attitude ) he didn't want them cheating and made them all of course figure out the manual shtuffz!
Like I mentioned I then rented space at that lab. I hope its like riding a bike since its been awhile
You have serious skillz and I'm loving that photo I get lazy sometimes and more telling a story than shooting a PHOTOGRAPH
As for Photoshop its used alot by photographers esp in the magzine world
