Pic of my new daily driver...

Well, if I get a bike while living in Seattle I can pretty much guarantee that it'll be ridden in the rain at some point and the Caterham, as stated before, would be an all season...all weather car. Can't be a whole lot worse than my Miata in the snow on summer tires!

The problem is, Barney, that in the snow the other road users are expecting you to drive relatively slowly ... however, in the rain, they are going to expect you to be driving like normal, and you are gonna have your work cut out keeping that baby on the road at every day speeds!

You've obviously never driven in Seattle in the rain. The Caterham might actually level the playing field since the typical Seattlite drives about 15mph slower when it drizzles than when it's a sunny day?!

I can understand your confusion. Seattle's one of the weirder places I've lived with regards to traffic (among other things). Traffic here is horrible, but that is partly due to the fact that drivers are not only stupid (this is fairly universal...most drivers are stupid) but they are also extraordinarly slow. It is not unusual for me to get stuck behind traffic (during non-rush-hour times) going 5-10 mph BELOW the speed limit on a day with good weather!
