G, it might be worth checking if you can get your rental car in Worcester and deliver it to Logan when you leave. I think Hertz or Avis would do that. It's just that going into Boston and then coming back for the party is an extra couple of hours traveling. It wouldn't be a problem getting you to your rental place if you come here first.
If you're going to go ahead with picking up the rental in Boston, you might want to get the Acela (high speed) Amtrak direct to Boston (South Station, I think) from NY, though I think it's more expensive. Acela will cut some time off your trip.
Let me know if you need help.

Penn Station is your point of departure for the Amtrak train to Worcester. I don't know who'll be traveling that way vs. driving up.
If anyone needs anythnig, let me know. G, we'll make sure we get you a lift from my house to Worcester to get your wheels.

Oh, this is no good... The Amtrak listings show service from Penn Station to Boston, and then a local train back out from Boston to Worcester. No, no, no...
OK, let me do a little research for you guys. A bus might be better in lieu of catching a lift, though I'm not big on bus travel.
Looks like your best bet (as I expected) might be to drive up. I think we should ask AZ and Sophia to see if any of the metro NYC crowd want to shuttle some folks up here. Who needs a ride from NYC to my house? Let see if we can hook people up.

Looks like we're gonna be all set for rides. So, G's going with Les/Mitch. One of you guys needs to bring James up to MA (his FP isn't coming)... Jack, Dave, one of you wanna sign up for that?
Who else needs a ride up to MA?
