Thanks Charlie, I hope I can too, I've never seen the East coast before so that would be kinda neat.

I travelled on one last time I was there. It's a great way to meet people and get a chance to see some of the country side too. The one I get allows me to travel anywhere in the US by rail or greyhound so there's quiet a bit of flexibility.

My four year old recently got a really high-tech globe for his b-day. He touches a pen on the globe and it tells him all kinds of info.

The kid is a sponge. I think in a couple of weeks he's learned more geography than I. It's really amazing.

Now that is a toy that I would love to get.

That sounds really cool.

I love how kids just seem to soak up so much information. Especially when it's a topic that they are really into.

A child's memory is an amazing thing to see at work!

I have to admit, between Africa and the old Soviet Union, the globe ain't what it used to be. I feel like a moron

They seem to change things on a daily basis. We've had the commonwealth games going on recently and you can't half tell that they are running out of names for countries.

They had two countries called "Guersey" and "Jersey".

So true. The globe should've come with a 5 year update guarantee

What's really funny is that this globe tries to play music associated with some of these countries. Whoever designed the software had a bit of a sense of humor.

I think there needs to be an international anthem update every so often, some of the anthems are definately humurous. Australia has actually been talking about changing ours but I don't think it will ever go ahead with all the red tape to get through.

The easy way round that Charlie is to just bury your head in the sand and get on with your own life and try to forget that there is a bigger picture out there ....... I have been doing this for *cough* years and it seems to be working at the moment

I would only do that if it were soft sand. I don't care much for the grainy stuff.
