I know what he thinks he meant, but did he really mean what he thought he knew?

I wonder if there's such a thing as an "unknown known."

"We knew, we just didn't know it."

The Doc says:

a 'known unknown' meaning litterally the you know that you don't know. History reflects that Napolean Bonaparte was the first to make this bold statement when he was questioned about what he desired for his evening meal. Not sure what would satisfy his taste buds, he simply said, "ahhh, but it is a known unknown... so I shall refuse to shower, eat some cheese, drink some wine and teach my countrymen to hate the Americans..."

Unfortunately for Napolean, the correct answer was 'a hamburger'. Had his taste buds been indeed satisfied, he may not have let himself down thye road to self destruction. On the other hand, it is fortunate for us that he did, for if not, we could all smell, lose any war we fought in, and be terribly rude to anyone we feel like.

T'was all for the greater good.

Some people has certain type of stroke. They don't know that they know certain thing.

For example: They don't know that they can operate manual transmission but if they are placed in a car, they can drive it.
