I have some friends who opened a bed and breakfast in Courtenay, on Vancouver Island, about halfway up the east coast, right on the water. We stayed with them when we were in BC in July. Have you been to Courtenay?

No. Our friends' place in Courtenay is magnificent. Tide goes out 75 yards each day, view of the rugged coastal mountains of mainland BC across the Straight of Georgia, surrounded by forest on 3 sides, killer whale pods, bald eagles.

Sort of. I live in La Crescenta @ in the foothills @ 1500 feet. Above all of the smog some of the time and most of the smog all of the time. Before that I lived on the beach in Marina del Rey. I sort of tolerate LA.

 

Also, it's where the environmental services business is.

Not during the day. I have drilling jobs in places like Watts. However, there are certain places you'd be best advised to avoid at night.

 

BG - Do you live in Vancouver or just that area? We go up to Vancouver and party from time to time and I'm starting to get the urge for another trip.
