is it okay if I take the battery off my S and let it die out?

?? why do you want to do this??

the batter wont die...but if you disconnect everything will reset..it only takes about 3 min for all the power to leave the car when the battery is disconnected...

keep the battery in a room temp dry place. you should buy a battery minder that will continously drain and charge part of the battery
