I don't think age has much to do with it. My experiences with rugrats (young ones, under say 10?) have been almost all negative. My nephew is a hellion 99% of the time (largely due to the negative influences of his mother and her mother). Most of the other kids I've had to spend any time with were as bad. I can only think of two exceptions, and I could probably grow to like kids if they were all like those two.

i used to hate children.. i used to joke that if i could have a 100ft restraining order on all children i would.. but after a few positive experiences, i've grown to like em (surprisingly) all ages

Maybe not age, Jeff, but wait until you meet the right woman. I hated (really) kids through my 20s. I never changed a diaper until my first was born.

Dude, you ain't lived until you've had to *ahem* clear your kid's intestines with an anal thermometer.
