We used to have Coyotes when we lived in the desert! I dont like them cuz they would come round and get lil doggies and cats that were out in peoples yards

We have some around here but less n less due to all the houses goin up

Toads don't croak, they squeak. Frogs croak. It's probably a bullfrog. Send me a pic and I'll confirm.
BTW, when I was in Ranger Survival School at Ft. Benning, they taught us that everything bthat moves on this planet -- everything -- is edible except the common toad.
