Right now Actually the reverse is true. A/C works by transferring the warm outside air over coils and then converts it into cold air. An A/C unit will not work effectively below a certain outside ambient temperature
This is very true. However, if the system is designed well, it can simply draw outside air in and give the appearance of working well when it's not working at all.

Interesting anecdote... we have a freezer in our garage and a lot of our food spoiled during a very cold week a while back. If we had left the door open it would have been fine!

We have a freezer in our garage (unattached to the house) Debs didnt believe me when I told her it would not work this winter
Now we have spoiled meat
