Right now John Michael Montgomery is singing the National Anthem for the NASCAR race.

Right now he's a talented artist, but man, he butchered the National Anthem.

Right now I'm thinking what would a NASCAR race would be without a number of wrecks? Why not get off to a good start in the first lap?

Right now that seems like a safety issue to me. Who gives a how many times you change tires? I love to see teams using pit strategy to win races and tires are a big part of that.
Right now, it is an issue... Barichello withdrew from the race with 5 laps left (presumably) because his front tires were shot. The whole idea of limiting tires, of all things, is ludicrous. What they've done is make the racing even worse, since the cars are that much more dependant on aero grip (since the hard as rock tires have less grip than before). The only passes occur when someone locks up and goes off the track now. Yay.

Right now, I hope the new F1 rules change the competitive landscape, though I suspect Ferrari will rise to the challenge.

Right now, I agree that one set of tires for the race weekend is absurd.
Right now, the landscape is completely different. Ferrari had a huge advantage with their intimiate relationship with Bridgestone; now Michelin has the advantage of 9 teams testing vs 1. I'll reserve judgement on Ferrari's chances until the 2005 car is out, but right now they don't look like a top 3 team. Renault is certainly the class of 2005.
