right now, what
happened last night?
happened last night?
escalated story short: My 17" PB G4 has had a nagging little problem for a while, the PC card slot would work once, then would kernal panic the machine upon reinsertion
..intermittently of course
THAT was the little problem, 2 hours and 3 support people into Apple Care, and an archive and install later (and a power failure in the middle of the install) my Sys folder was toast!
I was up till 3:30 fixing it myself after an Apple Care rep told me "my machine was hanging on by a thread and I need to RUSH to an Apple store"
....no I just needed a little direction on NOT HOW TO
up the computer MUCH worse than it was!
Of course its the end of the month and all my work/reports are due Monday...
Cliff notes for
s APPLE SUCKS but much less than the alternative.

Right now I'm thinking about the geophysical survey I did at 5:30 this morning in Pasadena, before the gym, with magnetics and ground-penetrating radar looking for an underground storage tank (UST). I detected a positive-negative dipole anomaly, the magnetic signature of a UST, mostly situated under a building: 10,000 gallons. Last week I did a soil vapor survey at that site and detected no concentration of aromatic hydrocarbon volatile organic compounds, including oxygenates, from gasoline releases to the subsurface soil in the soil vapor, the void space between the particulates.
