When I lived in Indiana, my monthly drinking related expenses were probably about $400. They're around $100 now (I mostly drink at home, have 2 drinks on Tuesdays instead of 5, and always pre-drink before going to a bar).

My drinking budget went up greatly when I moved into the big house... my home related expenses went from $950 to $550 a month. I put half into savings and drank the rest.
