Right now the new Phillips LCD's are at Sam's Club and looked pretty good.

Right now ghosting is still a problem with plasma.

Right now all the plasma TV's I've seen also have a gloss finish screen. The reflections bother the crap out of me. Matte finish of the LCD screens are better in a bright environment.

right now are talking response time ghosting? The price you posted seems like a good deal- people are always trash talking philips quality, but the people I know with them have been happy

Right now temp-burn-in ghosting from games and watching 4:3 or 2.35:1 format movies on 9:16 screen. While the newer units it's not permanent ... it can still take an hour for the ghost to go away.

Right now plasmas can be brighter in stores due to the brightness being cranked all the way up... but the manufactures still recommend setting the brightness to 50% to avoid permanent burn-in.
