Right now, to clarify my post about the 50mm f/1.4 lens- the lens that I have (thankfully not my lens) has trouble autofocusing...as in about a third of the time it won't focus at all or can't focus all the way. After looking at two other examples of the same lens on my camera, this lens working correctly is *very* fast (compared to my kit lens and 55-250) to focus, and as expected, great in low light.

8d- why wouldn't a lens with a maximum aperture opening of f/1.4 be good in low light?
