Right now thanks. Asked my agent for quotes on the 4 cars I'm considering and am completely as to how cars that are 6 years newer (and considerably more fun) are only a few hundred dollars more a year than the ridiculous amount I'm paying for Eleanor.
Not very versed in auto insurance across the border but I'm going to guess that the garaging location is the primary rating variable and any additional deviations (make/model of vehicle) doesn't carry as large a factor... If you can get a quote on Eleanor being parked at dad's, see what that will get you in terms of a change in premium and see if it's significantly lower....if it is, then my theory is probably right... If it's not, then I'm not sure why it's as high as it is...

Just a thought... I know that principle applies to some carriers in the states.

My $.02..

Good luck..

Right now I'm absolutely certain that's the case. Eleanor's first bill went to dad's and I called soon after to change my address. That's when the premium went up by several hundred dollars.
