My buddy has a WRX and I just can't get over the sound of a boxer. It sounds like a lawn tractor with an exhaust leak coming down the road.

I like the sound. I had an Alfa 33 years back and it had the same boxer engine Quad stainless exhausts on the new STi add to the sound

An Alfa? really?

I Had a 77 Spider. I loved that little aluminum inline 4. I popped off the head and it had hemi pistons in it. Mechanical fuel injection too. that car was fun until someone pulled out in front of me. i stopped in time but the guy behind me didn't.

argh !!!! I loved my Alfa, great fun and razor sharp throttle response. Funny thing with the Alfa was when you were trying to do any maintenance yourself. Was changing the exhaust and the one that the garage supplied wouldn't fit. Took it back and said they'd given me the wrong one, they checked the catalogue and it was the right one for the 1.7 Veloce Cloverleaf. Checked the one on the car and the exhaust and manifold were from a 1.5Ti Needed to do the brakes as well so checked those and the ones on my car were the ones from the 4 wheel drive version!

Seems that Alfa used to just use up all the parts they had rather then worry too much about which ones went on which model!!

I was a failure before I realized what a failure was, so I'm going to have to blame genetics.
