I fell (ironically, up at Deal's Gap) wearing one - Aerostich had it repaired and back to me in less than 2 weeks

No, that fall was a low-speed lowside - we had run the Dragon early in the morning, and it was damp, so we waited and ate breakfast. Another rider came along, told us it was completely dry, no problems. So I went tearing off, and in one of the slow rights, it was still damp but I couldn't tell, because of the shade in the corner. Landed on my butt, watched the bike slide (cool sparks from the Ti pegs and lever ends), picked the bike up, and rode the rest of the weekend with big scrape marks on my suit

J, I've hopped off so many times racing and testing that I can go into biker bars with no tattoos, pick up a pen and draw circles around the scars, and the bikers think I'm

I've broken most, if not all, my metacarpals and phalanges, my collar bone, both ulna (ulnae?), shoulder blade, and right ankle, not to mention grinding most of the skin off my elbows, knees, and right hip.

But if I had the time and $, I'd start racing my bike again
