Those are the worst seats, IMO. No good feeling for north-south relationships of players and you miss a lot of the play development (unless you're a goalie, in which it's just like being in the net).

My sophomore year at Tech, we had season seats 2nd row about halfway into the zone (between the blue and goal line)... they were great seats for having fun, but the view was lousy when play was at the opposite end. There was more than one occasion when we almost got kicked out.

Junior year I either sat behind the player bench (pretty fun - got to see/hear what was going on between players and coaches, and could more or less talk to the players) or about 10 rows up on the red line. Senior year I moved under the press box (~25 rows up, on the red line, and a friend was the replay guy so I could stand up and find out what had just happened).

i enjoyed sitting on the glass behind the goal.
I had Scott McNealy's tickets a the Shark Tank once. Just where you describe... behind the goal and to the side. Right on the glass.

really?
i sat in the middle last time and i felt like my head kept going back and forth...i dunno.. football, basketball, etc... i like the "50 yard line", but for some reason, i've sat in different spots for hockey games and watching someone's head come flying at you has an interesting appeal.

Debs and I sat on the glass right on the turn blue-lineish once. It was in Nashville at a Preds vs Flyers game (same guy who got us the Super Bowl seats) It was Debs first Hockey game ever She loved it! Felt like you were part of the action and could see pretty much everything ...except the opposite coffin corner.

the other side is the downside...althoguh since i'm 3 rows up from the bottom, i can still see the opposite goal.

oh..that and it's cool to see the puck come flying at you

i saw a girl get drilled in the head with a puck last week.
she was ok, but sitting in the center seemed like a safety hazzard

having said that, IF the NHL comes back, i'm thinking about making a weekend trip down to c-bus.... maybe catch a bluejackets game??? .. you can go sit where you want..i'll get as close to the glass as possible..

I'd meet you for a Blue Jackets game, depending on who they were playing. And assuming the tickets are reduced 24% from last year
