Hopefully not the same way I lost a set of golf clubs to a lake...

I once tried riding my Dare on the street and endo'd hardcore. Suspension is WAY too soft and too much travel, lol.

I can hit a curb at 25mph and not feel it.

I really need to buy a mountain bike...or get off my @$$ and build up a cyclocross bike just for fun. I'm not a hyper competitive person, so I prefer my riding to be for fun rather than true sport...

I've ridden basically a factory Kona DH bike before, though.

That thing had almost as much travel as my Jeep at the time!

I was riding down the mountainside and pinch-flatted my rear tire on a log I bunnyhopped over unsuccessfully. The tire dismounted itself and the inner tube got bunched up in the fork, so I was riding on bare metal over loose gravel at about 30mph.

And then my front brakes went out - I squeeze the lever and fluid sprays all over my hand. So I had no brakes and no rear traction. I tumble over a 15ft drop into a river, still tangled in my bike. The crankset cuts big gashes in my left shin (that look like shark bites) and I lost the bike forever. It was way too deep and the embankments too steep to attempt any recovery.

Major bummer.

My custom-built freestyle bike had 19" Dunlop motorcycle tires - it was stolen at a public park.
