i'm getting up early tomorrow to clay and wax my civic

 

I'm amazed at how quickly all the coolant pumped out of the torn hose...

 

I'm agreeing that I'm glad it is apparently such a simple fix...

 

i'm wondering how often hoses and whatnot should be replaced

 

I'm telling you that I replaced this hose less than a year ago, so I'm not sure why it failed again. I need to do further investigation, but the first step is fixing the immediate problem.

 

I'm suggesting that typically hoses only need to be replaced when they show visual signs of cracking or are no longer flexible...

 

im thinkin brant might actually be right on this one...

 

i'm wondering if the hose is near anything hot or exposed to elements that would speed up the wear process.



on a totally different note..i picked up some tiny crap laptop from my friend for $300 some gateway POS

 

im wondering what hose your talking bout here i usually wait till my hoses get all fat around the clamps before replacin em...

 

I'm letting you know that this particular hose is sort of a "cap" on an unused coolant outlet in the back of the engine and is prone to damage from a leaking sensor o-ring just above it. That o-ring was replaced sometime since I repaired the problem the last time, so it is possible that it damaged it and caused it to prematurely wear again...
