That's really too bad that product quality has gone down. 
Luckily, Evan's laptop bag has held up pretty nicely over the couple years he's owned it. I hope it last a loooong time
Your newest bag sounds nice! Maybe I just like the name of it I currently have a mini timbuk2 bag I've been using as a daily purse-like bag. I'm just having a lot of trouble deciding what colors/fabric to use on my laptop bag

My BIGGEST hassle with any messenger bag is needing them in right-shoulder instead of the standard left-shoulder style. Unfortunately, my green one and the mini are "wrong" shouldered for me...but they still work.
