I'm saying that I may have had more water than I thought it's just under the tiles that I put down in the basement....but that's what the dehumidifier's for

I'm saying I started the pump at 10:30 Thursday night and was finally able to turn it off about 3:30 Friday afternoon. Pump saved the boiler, hot water heater, and washer and dryer. I was supposed to be in Seattle last week but ended up canceling. Turns out it was a good thing.

I'm telling Mike that reminds me of my Mom and Dad's house. We would get alot of water in the basement and I had to use the wet/dry vac alot. It wasn't a finished basement luckily....neither is mine now.

I'm telling Dan my basement isn't really finished either. Walls are painted as is the floor but that's about it. House is about 100 years old so the walls are poured rather than being cinder block. No waterproofing that I am aware of. Makes me glad that it's a rental.

I'm saying my house and my parents house were both built in the 50's so it's just the nature of the beast, methinks.

I don't have a sump pump but am going to install one.
