Semi-Official "I'm" Thread - LV
I'm noting I moved up to #4 after someone canceled/changed and I snagged an aisle seat. Did not get upgraded, and actually the first AS flight I've been on where 0 people were upgraded. I think they're starting to do what Delta does and sell upgrades when you check in (but only at the airport), and people are buying cheap-ish upgrades. But it's not offered to people who check in on the app, which is kinda bullshit.
I'm guilty of having paid for upgrades. I have a (fairly low) price threshold where it makes sense to jump the queue. E.G. my flight to vegas was $211 in first (for a 230 mile flight
) or $181 to sit with the plebes. $30 for a couple drinks, dibs on very limited overhead space, and first off? Slam dunk. There's also the mileage/status factor.
But I don't really get paying $100 at the airport to upgrade a $60 ticket.
