I'm trying not to be overly sensitive, but I think dude at the body shop thinks I know nothing because I'm a girl. I repeatedly told him that my body kit is not OEM and that I only found 2 places online where I can buy a replacement since it seems to be pretty rare. I told him that there aren't any OEM side skirts, just side strakes, but he made two phone calls (including one to the dealership) just to be sure.
I'm pretty sure the dude at the body shop thinks you don't know anything because you're a girl

What kit is it?, I have an entire folder of S2000 aftermarket part sites, maybe I can find another supplier or you.

I'm thanking you. It's the Backyard Special kit. If you can find it and it's significantly less than USD700-800 for ONE side skirt, I may actually buy it.

At this point it looks like the body shop will make some *ahem* modifications to it so I don't have to replace it or take it off all together.

I''m thinking Backyard special is pretty nice stuff also pretty expensive stuff. Driver or pass side? you may have to buy both to get 1. Don't feel bad, I had to replace my OEM strakes TWICE and it was the pass side both times so I had to buy 2 complete sets!

I'm saying nobody is stocking it, though there are literally DOZENS of cheaper side skirts in stock everywhere... $710 from Bulletproof so far. A good bodywork guy can repair just about anything so that you can never tell. I'll look around a bit more, but I'm thinking repairing will cost less than replacing.

I'm saying I wouldn't have spent the money myself, but it came with the car and I've grown to like it, especially since it doesn't seem to be a common kit.
It's the passenger side that's in rough shape, although the driver's side needs some TLC too. But on the passenger side, there is a piece that is actually interfering (albeit slightly) with the door. The 'modification' may be to just cut that piece out.
