I'm wishing your dad a great retirement!!!
I'm telling you that it's a bit more complicated than that. He's "retired" from the Board, but still works as a consultant with the company...and has a few other jobs, as well.

I'm doing the same... and pointing out my father was construction superintendent on the building of the Columbia Tower.
I'm telling you he and his crew did well...it's an amazing building.

I'm not only checking in, but completely understand Brant's statement. My grandfather was of similar ilk. Once he was diagnosed with cancer, THEN he stopped working.

I'm not sure what is going to get my dad to stop. Dad's 70 and has had a stroke...is paralzyed on the left side...and a seizure that fractured his good hip. He's still perking along.

Has time for several jobs AND being a full-time granddad!

I'm thinking there's something in them waters in the northwest. My cousin is 95 (lives in Kirkland), and still makes time for one dark beer a day, my grandfather (born in Blaine, I think ) kept doing financial analysis up until the day he died. . . and I grew up in the Bay Area, and could stand to retire any second.
