I'm interested in seeing Running with Scissors, but I want to read the book first. Don't want my imagination to be tainted by the movie.

I'm telling you the book is fantastic...though I think I liked Dry (the second installment) somewhat more. Both were, to use my word of the day, brilliant. It's been a while since I've read Running With Scissors, but the movie seemed to stick pretty close to what I recall of the book...and the author, Augusten Burroughs, was apparently quite involved (co-producer, I believe) with the movie...

I'm wondering if Bent's word for the day, 'brilliant', is inspired by the Guiness adverts
