I'm adding that the horsepower wars of the last decade or so have really started bothering me. I just don't think most people are capable of safely driving a 450+ horsepower car, and especially not most people under the age of 25. Yet you can get into a car in that range for under $15k (240 w/ SR20, WRX w/ boltons, etc).

I'm thinking that - 18 is still young, and requires some supervision. Like NOT handing over keys to a car like that! I think the parents used terrible judgement and deserve 4 civil suits filed against them for what their son did.
