Funny you should ask, I've been wondering the same thing. Especially since we've been watching it for a year and I've never noticed so many flies.
I've noticed that the abundance of flies (we're seeing them multiple times per day whereas before it was fairly infrequent) correlates to that orange crap on the glass. Perhaps someone (maybe Gina) threw some fruit or a soda or something on there.
It's a thought (and I don't have many).
