So, here's the deal I started figuring out. . . Pandora makes some money hawking tunes to listeners. There are certain songs BMI/ASCAP and the record companies won't release to Pandora. . . and those certain songs are usually very popular.
The function of the gizmo is to circulate not-so-overly-popular/classic tunes, with the intent that you might buy them if they become familiar enough (over time).

It's neither new nor particularly popular. It's a 3 year old remake of a marginally popular 80s song. There is definitely a distinct lack of "new" music.
This particular station/song... I'm up over 120 songs (figure 8 hours of music) with the
and I've yet to hear my seed song, or even a song by the same artist. Ironically, it plays a much more diverse set of music than my dance station does, probably because I keep every attempt it makes.
