my Bug's owned 2 1st car then one after my MGB caught fire 
that MGB was awesoeme up till that day

Don't know what year his was, but I would guess pre-1967 since that's the year he would've turned 16. I remember him telling me about how he "parked it in a snowbank" once. Not nearly as awesome as having one in the BA.
