Although 4 weeks IS a little out of the norm, my job is fairly stressful so they try to offer good benefits. Plus labour laws here are a little different than in the US from what I understand.

Good point. Why just this morning I had to walk into town because my sled dogs all perished overnight in the frigid weather. 
I came home only to find some douche had kicked in the door of my igloo.
