I was called a scab but I really wasn't one. A scab is an employee that is hired to do a job of a striking employee during a labor dispute. Believe it or not I am management and part of what management does during a strike is to step up and do the job of the striking employee. As I work for a television broadcast company that broadcasts live TV shows we had to work to keep the show on the air. I worked on the show in the morning and then did my regular job afterwards.

I've worked in unionized environments for about 15 years and fortunately none have ever come close to going on strike. They've always been in the category of essential services so I'm pretty sure we'd be on skeleton staffing anyway.
