You should try "campus check cashing" It's often free... but occasionally illegal i.e. you must ask for at least two forms of id.

oh yeah... and corner??

Precisely... one would assume that all parties involved (at least all single parties) would have seen the inherent risks in not keeping the eyes on the prize. Take your eyes off, and you end up swinging the proverbial sword.
