Ya, Ti bikes can be sturdy with a good design, but that means more money! And they're already hella expensive to begin with.
I'll stick with steel for now.
Also...
I used to have this single-speed aluminum road bike that I would race cars with.
I'd take it down roads where cars normally travel 45-50mph, and I was keeping up without even trying!
Anyway, I totalled it in a nasty wipeout. I was just cruising and came up to a traffic light at a slowish 15mph or so. I was in the right lane and a car pulled out of the parking lot right in front of me and I had to swerve hardcore... I didn't lose control from the actual turn, but from my feet hitting the front tires - I guess these bikes weren't designed for turns!
So I wiped out and had some bigass cuts all over my body. Thank God I was wearing a helmet. That's why I try to stay away from road bikes...

$1500 is frame, fork and headset...but I can get a whole bike for that if I take one of their demos at the end of a season. Not a bad deal for a used bike if you consider that they build up their demos with pretty swank parts...

Dude go for the demo bike!
How long til the end of the season though?
That's how I got ahold of the Ellsworth... kinda. I actually bought it off of Ebay but it was a steal considering it was the works bike - you know it was maintained and optioned with only the best. The same goes for your Ti bike. So I repeat: Go for it!
If not you, then I'll get it myself!

And the only reason I got my Jekyll 1000 is because I got it insanely cheap - discounted because nobody would buy it. The paint scheme was too ugly.

Oh damn.
But don't you start regretting your Miata purchase! That is one dynamically GORGEOUS car! My gf has one and I think it's as close to an S2000 as you'll get.
BTW, did you remove those left-side blue center caps from your wheels yet?
