What would you do Red if you were single? (I think you'd buy and S.) As long as it doesn't screw over your plans as a couple... That's what you do.
I think he probably was trying to be nice by getting the S... if you can afford 2 S's why not? If he want's an S and you do go for it. I'd get one for my wife if she wanted it and we could afford it. Who TF cares if she drives it differently or the same or it's the same colour. I'm not driving this for anyone else.
He might be doing a macho with being the one who bought it but who cares. Buy another if one isn't enough.
