Yep... the fire was across the street from my house. They told us to get ready to leave if it got any worst. But then they had it under control.

There are 3 burning near my sons. The closest is the Cedar fire which is over 100,000 acres now. It's only a matter of 10 miles from them.
The distance is a little scary but the worst of it is the smoke that is blowing right over the campus.
My oldest has gone up to Orange for a day or two... he's just recovering from Bronchitis so I'm glad of that. The younger of them is staying put in his dorm which is good except for the smoke. It's better in of course so he's doing his best to stay in.

La Crescenta was clear as a bell most of yesterday. No smog and the San Gabriels and the Verdugos were gorgeous. There was a red-black smoke cloud wall cloud to east that looked to be around Pasadena. Then, midafternoon, the winds picked up and blew somke into our valley. Boom, just like that, it was like being inside an incinerator. Early this morning, when I left for the gym, the air wreaked of smoke.
