So what do you guys think of the CR-V
so I realized that having a G35 and an S2000 is stupid. Time for the G35 to go.
I need something more practical.
I want a truck - GF/FP (or GFP for short) shot that down pretty quickly.
I want a Mini Cooper - GFP shot that one down too.
I want a WRX - Bang!
I thought about a small SUV (I hate having a large SUV - gas guzzling hog for one driver) - GFP and I went test driving this past weekend. She doesn't like the RAV4 but LOVES the CR-V.
There are a few months left on the G35 lease but its days are numbered. that means there are only a few months to chose my next "practical" car
suggestions are welcomed.

05-06 G35X Sedans are flooding the used car market and are a STEAL right now.
However, I can see that you would want something different.
Asking about a CR-V AND a Mini in the same thread does make me question your sexuality, and is grounds for a least a temporary suspension of your guy card.
If you really want the "sport-cute" go for an RDX, they can be had fairly reasonably, espeically if you find one with a few thousand miles on it.
Accord Sedan would be practical, and new it is a great value, used is a better value of course.
Mazdaspeed 3. Hatchback, turbo.
I haven't driven one, but I hear they are nice.

One of my shooting buddies had a CR-V. He liked it and we took several trips up to Kentucky with it. Now he has an Element. He likes it as well, and we have driven it up to Kentucky a few times too.
If gas were not a factor I would have to give the nod to the Element. The CR-V got approx. 6 mpg better than the Element on the highway with identical loads.

How about the Ridgeline? It gets pretty crappy gas mileage as well though. I was looking at the 2009 Nissan Murano the other day and it seemed like a nice cross over SUV. It scored high in the latest crash tests.

wondering.. the element uses 87 pump gas..but there is an element s/c..i wonder if that uses premium..

I haven't found the CR-V to be that much better than a FWD Element. That said, the AWD Element (like mine) is another beast entirely in the mileage dept.
I do love my E, but I would NOT recommend it for Ninh's situation: too much road noise for the sig oth. However, the seats prove pretty comfy for long-hauls.
Ninh, my honest recommendation? You're whipped, and you're getting a chick car. Suck up and deal.
first off, yes, I'm whipped. Should I get an H2 to feel better about myself? Even better, an H1!!!!!!!!!!!
second, no tandem is not in the cards b/c she hates cycling. That means more bike funds for me to buy those sexy carbon parts.
third, RDX is probably a good choice, pending further research.
fourth, anything bigger (Ridgeline, Element) is probably a bad idea b/c I live close to SF, I like driving small nimble car in the City.
fifth, I can just man up (see #1) and keep the G35. When she wants a new car, she can buy the CR-V. I need to go buy a bigger plasma TV.
