Today was end-of-phase so the Hot Rod U boys were dynoing their T-buckets. I didn't get to see any pulls, except for one of the students' personal cars - super-clean '73 Corvette. It sounded MEAN. Real mean.

Anyway, it sounded like a big block, but it turns out it was only a 383... On the gas, it only made 264rwhp. :pathetic:

of course, i started talking shit, "my all-motor 350 makes more than that" so... of course... they told me to prove it...


after filling out the paperwork, we strapped that fubbcker on and i actually made quite a bit more power than last time. by advancing it about 1-2deg (only from twisting the distributor a bit), I finally hit that magical 400 mark.


408.2rwhp @ 5600rpm and 431.9rwtq at 2700-4600rpm

that'sroughly +13rwhp and +30rwtq



plus, my camaro sounds MUCH meaner - and MUCH louder

 

my guess is that the dork went to jeg's and bought the biggest cam...


that engine had way too much cam for what he had... prolly stock heads with a way too big carb on stock intake...

ya, he was definitely off-time. he was running on all 8, with no misfire. i just like to say that to excuse the such PATHETIC hp numbers...
