:spam:ing Microsoft !!!
Just thought I would mention Mac OsX had built in auto sensing network capabilities!
I use a Powerbook in a wired/wireless network cable modem setting at work, and at home have a wireless network (cable modem)
Guess what I do when I get home (or back to work) to switch settings?
NOTHING!!!!!

His firewall was causing his problems....you could have the sam issue on a Mac.....keep trying buddy!

I love how Mac has to make up terms like this "auto sensing" to make it seem like some new feature.
I'm awfully glad it works for you too, Mike!
I have an old friend who works on operating systems at Apple, and well frankly it's a wonder that anything works at all!

It's true. With M$ stuff you do have to pray a lot. You also have to open your wallet a lot! Not that I'm complaining.

ok heres one for you.
How do I set up a friends Dell Laptop (wireless) to allow my Mac laptop (airport) wireless to share his cable modem when I play over his place? He is running XP (I guess the home version??)
He has a Linksys WAP and Dell truemobile PC wireless card. I could never figure out the settings to let me in.

I have Linksys WAP/router at home also.
I'm not sure XP is in the equation here, Mike. There may be some settings on the WAP/router that aren't configured right.
You can use your web browser to log into the WAP/router when you're at his house.

FYI, I have three PCs (two wireless and one wired) all sharing the internet connection at home.
Linksys allows firmware downloads to the WAP, if perhaps he has an old version.
But, I've never tried using MAC on my wireless net.
