Yep, there are a lot of thoughts to be considered. No dog hair in the house. No in the yard. No barking at strangers. No water dishes to fill. No big, sad eyes at the gate as I drive away.

(No happy greeting when I come home ... - wait! Stop! Don't go there!!)

 

I like dogs...

I wouldn't be without a dog, a good dog really can be a mans best friend.

 

They don't get along with cars though

I think if I were to get a dog again, I would get two of them from the outset so they have company. I just fell victim to my son at age 11, thinking "a boy and his dog," "no more kids, a dog will be a nice addition to the family," etc. But unfortunately we got one that can't handle being alone. His new owners are going to be much better for him, I'm sure.
