Default speed limit query

The state of Vt. has stated that the speed limit on any frozen body of water in the state is 50 M.P.H. Their reasoning is that any frozen body of water in Vt. is considered a public roadway. How can a frozen lake pond or reservoir be considered a roadway? It is not like Alasksa were they actually are roads going thru the ice.

I'd like to see a pursuit Crown Victoria or Impala follow you out onto the ice, radar you, chase you down, and pull you over without running into you to give you a speeding ticket.

lol, you'd think they'd have some better to do with their time than to hunt down speeders on frozen lakes.

There is a heavy police, DEM, forestry prescence out
on the trails. It is good to see for the most part as they do catch people who have been drinking and are out of control riders but the state comes up with some pretty thin laws to collect$$$$$.

I guess laws are like that everywhere. Glad they are out making it safer for everyone else though. So I guess you get the good with the bad.

If I was on a frozen lake, I'd be too scared to be doing 50 MPH! I don't think I'd be driving on one at all.
